How we build your plan

We’re a small team that publishes travel guides. This page shows how we make a custom plan, what’s in it, and what we promise when you buy one.

One evening, three full itineraries

Every plan comes as 3 full itineraries: Saver, Sweet spot and Splurge. Each one is a complete plan, so you can pick one or mix them day by day. Here’s the same evening from Sam’s solo Big Bend Getaway in all three.

  • Saver

    6:00 · Evening

Sunset at Sotol Vista, then stars from the pullout

Why it’s here: Here because night-sky photography is your must-do: frame it here.

Why it’s here: Here because you’re camping: supper is close to your site.

Carry supper from the Basin Store and eat at Sotol Vista with the tripod already up. After sunset, switch to red light and let your eyes settle. The car is steps away, so a jacket and a chair are plenty.

  • Sweet spot

    5:30 · Evening

Dinner at the Starlight Theatre, Terlingua, then the night sky

Why it’s here: Here because new-moon nights start early: eat, then go out.

Why it’s here: Here because night-sky photography is your must-do: frame it here.

Take the early table at the Starlight Theatre, then drive the Ross Maxwell to Sotol Vista while it’s light. Set up facing the sunset and stay as the stars come out. Pack a lens cloth and a warm layer.

  • Splurge

    6:00 · Evening

Private stargazing tour with Starlingua, Terlingua

Why it’s here: Here because it’s an easy dinner before a late night.

Why it’s here: Here because it’s your Splurge: a private telescope night.

An easy pizza at Long Draw Pizza, then out to Starlingua for the private session. Bring your camera and ask how to frame what’s in the telescope tonight. Afterward, the casita patio is a dark-sky spot of its own.

Example plan: names, dates and details are illustrative. Every place links to its official site in your plan.

Every pick explained

“Here because…” notes sit on every pick, each tied to something you told us: who’s coming, your pace, your dates or your must-dos. Rest stops, drives and repacking are logistics, not picks, so they don’t get a note.

What we check

Once a month we go back over our free guides. We make sure links still open, and we look up key details like prices, opening hours, closures and permit rules on the official sites that set them. Details can change between our checks, so confirm what matters before you book.

Our promise, and our limits

What we don’t do

This is a written plan, not a booking. We’re a guide publisher, not a travel agent or tour operator: we don’t book, hold or sell travel. You book every stay, ticket and table yourself, directly with the provider.

Refunds and refinements

Full refund before work starts, or if we can’t deliver. After delivery: 1 free refinement (2 on Grand Journey); extra refinements $19. Facts we got wrong get fixed free.

Art, AI and other questions

Art and photosOriginal illustrations, next to credited destination photos

Our cards are original illustrations. Next to them we use credited destination photos from Wikimedia Commons and other sources.

How we use AIBuilt with AI-assisted tools. Confirm hours, prices, closures and permits before booking.

We build our guides and plans with AI-assisted tools, including the illustrations and parts of the writing. AI can get things wrong, so confirm hours, prices, closures and permits before you book.

Do you use AI?

Yes. We use AI-assisted tools for the illustrations and parts of the writing. Your plan links every place to its official site.

Have you been to my destination?

Probably not. Costa Rica is the only trip our team has taken first-hand. Plans are researched from official sources and current reporting.

Are the photos yours?

No. They’re credited destination photos from Wikimedia Commons and other sources. The cards are original illustrations.

Is this a booking?

No. It’s a written plan. You book everything yourself, directly with each provider.

Can I change it after delivery?

Yes. You get 1 free refinement (2 on Grand Journey), and extra refinements are $19. Facts we got wrong get fixed free.

Where are the reviews?

We don’t show any yet. Once plans ship, we’ll publish reviews only from real buyers, and we won’t edit, pay for or hide them.

How do I reach you?

Email earthadventuretravel@mail.grokbot.com. We reply within two business days.
